Far Down Below Process Video (SPOILERS!) & updates

Dinosaurs are LIT!!! owwo

Ahoy!

Here's a process video of a double spread page from Far Down Below #4 (beware of spoilers!), from almost begining of the inks stage (what's underneath in light blue are my sketches for that page). Dinosaurs! Men in power armor! Lava! This comic is great and great fun to do. I watched this from start to finish and it's interesting to see how I work. I think I hadn't done that for reals until now, it's funny that I get annoyed at my own hiccups and perhaps a good tool to improve my process. It’s free, you just gotta follow the Patreon to watch it:

A bit of an update:

So, it's been a minute. I'm trying to get my shit together in this mess of a year and share more stuff, I just need to understand my time a little better since I'm fully back into being a freelance illustrator (which is 1-good! I need the money and 2-takes the pressure of comics as the only source of income and work and makes it so much more enjoyable), comic artist and also prepping for DJing alongside some music production things that are adding so much fun and levity to my life right now. Learning a new skill in a relaxed way made me more willing to just put stuff out there even if it's unpolished. I might start a Space Opera comic here that I've been wanting to work on - kinda just loosely draw and post the pages, nothing too fancy, but I have an urge to produce and that might help to soothe my nerves about it.

For future posts, I'm thinking less text and more video/audio as it's quicker to record and produce, so I can make more resourceful material for y'all in less time - I just have to learn to not be too precious about it and just post things as polished as I'm able to polish them. Big learning for this year. :3

I also decided to open every post in the Patreon to the free tier - with the exception of resource files. If anyone wants to contribute, they can, but I'd rather not have things under a paywall since times are hard and knowledge is power. You just gotta follow the Patreon and you can see anything. That said, I'm making this particular video free only for a week because I wanna respect what Chris (Condon) is doing on his and Jacob Philips' Patreon as well (it should be the only locked content alongside brushes and resources for a while). Which you should definitely follow by the way, they make the good stuff and Chris records this interview podcast every month aimed at people who are starting to have a career in comics and it's a wonderful resource. Speaking of which, I'm the next guest, we talked a lot about dealing with creative work fatigue and I narrated my trajectory in comics until now - and definitely talked way too much - and we'll both be posting the interview in our Patreons, so expect that as well soon.

That's it for now!

Stay safe, and hope you can have some peace of mind - whatever that means for you.
